Bad Summer Camp

$ 695.00 CAD

Here in the Pacific Northwest, we have a short window of time to truly soak up as much sun as possible and live our best Bad Girl Summer. It’s not so easy to say YOLO when it comes to making grand plans for travel anymore (in this economy?!), so why not consider the low-key local staycation? Those of us lucky enough to enjoy this corner of the world know that there is so much beauty to experience even in our own backyards and we don’t have to take plane to get there! The Bad Academy and Local Tourist are partnering up to create the dreamiest weekend your cute lil’ hearts could desire just a hop, jump, and skip (on the ferry) away! We’re hitting the road (or the ocean rather) and taking over the Sunshine Coast for our first ever Bad Summer Camp! We’ve been planning for months to provide our Bad Campers with the best experience filled with good food, good times, and good friends focusing on honouring the land we love and our bodies and minds. If you’ve been craving a low-maintenance getaway where you can relax, reconnect with the land and old/new friends, and most of all, have SO MUCH fun, this is the camp for you! Now booking!

FAQ

Who is this camp for?

Women and gender-non-conforming people!

What is the capacity for the camp?

We have 25 tickets available!

I want to come solo! Is that okay?

Yes absolutely! You'll be in good company and we're confident you'll make fast friends with our Bad crew :) If you want to try and share a room with a new friend to save some cash, email us and we'll try our best to play matchmaker!

Can I come with friends?

Of course! Coordinate within your crew about room sharing, rides, etc :)

Do we have to participate in all the activities?

A friend of ours uses the phrase "Body's choice" - you are welcome participate or not participate as much or as little as you'd like! We're here to support you, and make sure you're comfortable. Whatever feels right to you :)

Do we have to stay at The Stonewater?

Nope! You can totally stay off site :)

The Stonewater allows dogs. Are we allowed to bring our dogs?

Although we love dogs and have our own, we'd prefer you leave pets at home in case someone has an allergy and/or are out at the lake which does not allow dogs at the beach :(

I'm not coming from Vancouver - is that okay?

Yes! Non-locals are totally welcome :)

Can we arrive early and/or stay late?

Absolutely. If you want to stay at The Stonewater, please contact them for longer stays. Otherwise, feel free to make other plans to explore the Coast (there's so much to see!) outside of camp!

What do we need to bring?

Anything you need to be comfortable! Pack warm clothes, a yoga mat, and a swimsuit for sure, and we'll be sure to send you a packing checklist ahead of camp. The Stonewater can answer questions about what they have on site with our accommodations, but anything you'd expect in a motel (and more!) will be available.

What's the food situation?

We'll be sending around an intake form so we can make sure we're accommodating everyone's needs and allergies! We'll be arranging local catering as well as a variety of options at camp for everyone. We suggest bringing any drinks/snacks you might want for yourself (although we'll have plenty on site)

What if I don't have a car?

We're providing transportation (car and ferry!) for 7 people for an additional $75 fee. Add this option at check-out and you'll hear from us soon about logistics!

I 'm a person with a disability and I have questions about how I can be accommodated.

We're totally available to answer your questions! Slide into our DM's or email us at hello@thebadacademy.com

Do you need volunteers?

We should be okay with help, but we'll let you know if we do!

I have an organization/company that would like to contribute to the Bad Camp Kit or some of the activities. How can we reach you?

Email us at hello@thebadacademy.com

What is the cancellation policy?

We unfortunately cannot offer refunds, but you are able to transfer your ticket at any time to a friend! Email us at hello@thebadacademy.com to coordinate.

About The Instructor(s)

Refund Policy: Tickets are transferable, but unfortunately not refundable at The Bad Academy. We're a crazy small organization and operate on razor-thin margins, and as much as we'd like to account for life getting in the way, we have been burned too many times by no-shows, and last-minute refund requests etc. If you'd like to transfer your ticket to a friend, please email us at hello@thebadacademy.com with the name and email of the person taking your place, and we'll make sure to make the appropriate changes!
