March 1st, 2026 (Sunday) at 1:30PM at The Hive North Shore
Runtime: 90 mins

Rounding out the weekend with some chill-ass movement and tea by Patricia Szeto, local community builder and rare disease awareness advocate (founder of Damian's Project). This session is grounded in Chen-style Tai Chi, focusing on cultivating stability, awareness, and strength from within. Rooted in Shaolin philosophy, the practice weaves together softness and structure, breath and intention, supporting calm presence and easeful, effective movement.
Participants will explore functional movement and optional partner work, applying tai chi principles such as form, balance, and responsiveness in a relational and accessible way. The practice is not about perfection or performance, but about listening inwardly and building connections! Suitable for all levels, with modifications offered for different bodies and abilities.
We invite you to learn about the fascinating world of Tai Chi and sip on some tea with other Baddies following our session!
Note: This workshop will take place in the Hive Yoga Room at the Hive North Shore. Admission to the climbing area of the gym is separate and requires additional registration at the front desk. Please see The Hive website for more information.
Can I buy admission to individual workshops? How about all of them?!
Yes of course! If you're a keener (aka our favourite kind of Baddie) and want to attend all the workshops listed, you are totally welcome!
Can we choose who we sit with at Mahjong 101?
Yes! If you come in a group, we will prioritize seating you together :)
Who are these workshops for?
Women and GNC people who want to learn and have fun! No need to be of Chinese heritage to participate - we welcome you to this programming to learn about our wonderful culture as we celebrate the Lunar New Year :)
I have dietary restrictions - can they be accounted for?
For our food-related workshops in this series, we can accommodate vegetarians for the DUMPS 101 workshop!

Refund Policy: Tickets are transferable, but unfortunately not refundable at The Bad Academy. We're a crazy small organization and operate on razor-thin margins, and as much as we'd like to account for life getting in the way, we have been burned too many times by no-shows, and last-minute refund requests etc. If you'd like to transfer your ticket to a friend, please email us at hello@thebadacademy.com with the name and email of the person taking your place, and we'll make sure to make the appropriate changes!
