Join us for a relaxed instructional sill-life drawing class at your local farmers market.

Let’s tell you how it works:  Meet us by the food trucks We’ll connect and say hey then send you off to the market for about 30-40 minutes to grab a cute piece of fruit or veg, and snacks while you draw. Come back to meet us at 11am for a guided drawing lesson on observation, shape, form, texture, shading and perspective.

No previous life drawing experience required, if you’re bad at drawing please come and bring a friend.

You ticket includes a brand new drawing materials and a Bad Academy sketchbook and graphite pencils with your lesson.

If you’re into feminist art history, art snob takedowns, and drawing deadly snacks with cool people—join us for Still Life 101 at Trout Lake Farmers Market, July 12 from 10-1pm

Come hungry and curious.

About The Workshop

Still Life with Pastels — Al Fresco Edition

Oct 4th, 2025 (Saturday)
Trout Lake Farmers Market
11am–2pm

Join us outdoors for our second edition of our still life drawing session! We’re collaborating with @parachute studio and surrounded by the colors and textures of the market. We’ll set up a vibrant still life scene, demo pastel techniques, and then it’s your turn to grab your chalks or oils and create your own masterpiece.

Swing by the market stalls for inspiration (or snacks 👀), then settle in and draw under the open sky.

Bring your own materials if you’d like, or just show up ready to get dusty with colour!

Refund Policy: Tickets are transferable, but unfortunately not refundable at The Bad Academy. We're a crazy small organization and operate on razor-thin margins, and as much as we'd like to account for life getting in the way, we have been burned too many times by no-shows, and last-minute refund requests etc. If you'd like to transfer your ticket to a friend, please email us at hello@thebadacademy.com with the name and email of the person taking your place, and we'll make sure to make the appropriate changes!
